Mechanical - Static Inspector

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Static Inspector to oversee inspection and quality control activities for static mechanical equipment and associated piping works. The role will ensure fabrication, installation, testing, and inspection activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform inspection of static equipment including pressure vessels, columns, tanks, heat exchangers, boilers, and associated mechanical components.
• Inspect equipment fabrication, erection, alignment, installation, welding, and dimensional activities.
• Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and applicable codes and standards.
• Review material certificates, equipment documentation, welding records, NDT reports, and inspection test results.
• Witness and verify hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, pressure testing, leak testing, and other required inspection activities.
• Inspect piping and mechanical connections associated with static equipment.
• Identify defects, deviations, and non-conformities and monitor corrective actions.
• Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, welding inspectors, NDT personnel, contractors, engineers, and client representatives.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, punch lists, and quality records.
• Support mechanical completion, commissioning, punch-list clearance, and project handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with project quality procedures and HSE requirements.

Mandatory Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in static equipment inspection within oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial, or major construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of static equipment fabrication, erection, installation, welding, and inspection requirements.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, and relevant project specifications.
• Experience reviewing WPS/PQR, NDT reports, material certificates, inspection records, and equipment documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, NCR management, and inspection documentation.
• Good communication, reporting, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
