: Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and supporting financial planning and analysis. The role oversees general ledger activities, month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciliations, budgeting support, and coordination with auditors while providing guidance to junior accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments in accordance with accounting standards.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and budget performance, providing financial insights to management.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Review and process vendor payments, customer receipts, and payroll-related accounting entries.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee depreciation calculations.
• Prepare tax filings and statutory reports as required.
• Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing technical guidance and support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and financial decision-making.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA is preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, accounting principles, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Tally).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
