Concept Artist — Volunteer, Global Team

Responsibilities
- Partner with the Art Director to pioneer the game's vision
- Design and develop high-quality digital sketches and iterations
- Create original concepts for characters, environments, and props
- Attend weekly team meetings via Slack
- Present concepts and ideas to the team for discussion
- Problem-solve to execute the look and feel of the game
- Balance artistic aspects with technical constraints
- Adjust artwork styles to meet art direction
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, or similar
- Strong understanding of lighting, composition, architecture, and anatomy
- Ability to create high-quality concept art and illustrations
- Ability to give and receive professional feedback
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to work on a long-term volunteer basis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the game design or development industry
- Experience shipping one or more video game titles
- Educational background in art or design
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5

Epoch Games is a volunteer-based, all-online, global game development team currently developing The Lays of Althas: Sundered Order (LoA:SO), an indie open-world RPG built in Unreal Engine 5.
