Job summary:

Metabolic is seeking a DHA Licensed Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations as part of our integrated metabolic and diabetes care model.

The Sonographer will be responsible for conducting ultrasound imaging procedures, ensuring accurate image acquisition, supporting physicians with diagnostic interpretation, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent patient communication, and strict adherence to DHA regulatory and clinical governance standards.

This position plays an important role in supporting metabolic, endocrine, and general diagnostic assessments within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

Key responsibilities:

1. Ultrasound Imaging

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and clinical protocols.
  
• Conduct a range of ultrasound scans including abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, soft tissue, and vascular studies where applicable.
  
• Ensure high-quality image acquisition for accurate diagnostic interpretation.
  
• Recognize and document abnormal findings and escalate appropriately to the supervising physician or radiologist.
  
• Prepare detailed technical reports and ensure images are properly archived in PACS/EMR systems.
  

2.Patient Care:

• Prepare and position patients appropriately for ultrasound examinations.
  
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and address questions to ensure comfort and cooperation.
  
• Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
  
• Monitor patients during procedures and ensure a safe clinical environment.
  

3. Equipment & Quality Control:

• Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning optimally.
  
• Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues promptly.
  
• Maintain proper infection control and sterilization procedures for ultrasound probes and equipment.
  

4.Compliance & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  
• Adhere to DHA regulations, clinical protocols, and radiation safety standards where applicable.
  
• Participate in quality assurance programs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
• Maintain required professional licensing, certifications, and continuing medical education (CME).

• Small parts (breast, testicular)
  
• MSK ultrasound
  
• Liver elastography
  
• FibroScan / FibroTouch-type modalities
  
• OSA ultrasound
  

Understands, follows and supports all hospital infection control programs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, or related field.
  
• Valid DHA License as Sonographer (mandatory).
  
• Minimum 2–3 years of ultrasound experience, preferably in outpatient or diagnostic center settings.
  
• Experience with abdominal, thyroid, and general ultrasound imaging preferred.
  
• Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems.
