A Cluster Director of Engineering serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role you should maintain the attitude behaviours skills and values that follow:

• University degree in mechanical and electrical engineering or similar construction related discipline or experience in lieu
• Recognized professional qualification in engineering or similar construction related discipline

• Significant work experience of 15 years or more in property engineering design and/or construction related roles including 5 years management experience and/or 5 years working within a Client organization
• Minimum of 5 years hotel development and construction related experience ideally within an international hotel group
• Experience working in multi-cultural or international settings

• An understanding of local building codes European and International (NFPA) Fire Life Safety codes

• Strong leadership skills and previous experience of managing a team

• Exposure to budgeting and basic accounting
• Positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
• Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work on their own
• Previous experience of facilities management

A Cluster Director of Engineering will manage the Engineering Team to efficiently maintain all hotel operations such that safety security conversation and compliance are ensured at the highest this role you will be responsible for two iconic properties on Yas Island:THE WB Abu Dhabi Curio Collection by Hilton andDoubleTree by Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Residences.

THE WB Abu Dhabi Curio Collection by Hilton
The WB Abu Dhabi Curio Collection by Hilton is the worlds first Warner Bros. branded hotel. Guests will be able to experience recognizable characters from across Warner Bros. iconic collection of film television and comics. This unique hotel is adjacent to the award-winning Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi theme park. The hotel will feature 257 rooms over eight levels with guests able to access a range of amenities including signature WB restaurants a premier spa and fitness club kids club family pool and an exclusive rooftop pool overlooking Yas Islands distinctive skyline.

DoubleTree by Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Residences provides a variety of options that accommodate different needs especially larger families looking for more space and in-room amenities. A total of 156 units offer guests a range of studio one- two- and three-bedroom accommodation. Full amenities will include in-room kitchenettes gym pool and a variety of recreation facilities. The property is within walking distance from Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld and in close proximity to Yas Islands other attractions and experiences including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi CLYMB Abu Dhabi and numerous world-class F&B outlets on the Island.

What will I be doing

As Cluster Director of Engineering you are responsible for maintaining the physical assets of the owner the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel including energy conservation.

You are also responsible for the development of the Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering as required for hotel standards. Specifically a Director of Engineering will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Lead the Engineering Team in engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel/s and accommodation building including service standards equipment schedules and work schedules

Develop systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of Guests and Team Members as well as the proper conditions for plant machinery and property

Communicate with Government agencies to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and regular services agreements

Prepare Capital FF&E budgets

Prepare Repairs and Maintenance and Utilities budgets

Prepare special projects budget and logistics

Coordinate project bidding define the cost and scope of the project and oversee the general contractor and subcontractors to ensure quality work is performed cost effectively

Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Support renovations projects by owner

Perform daily checks around the hotel and take actions accordingly

Maintain appropriate stock of spare parts

Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers

Maintenance of all hotel fixtures and fittings to ensure they are in safe condition and take action when any unsafe situations arise

Assist to develop and implement emergency programs in conjunction with S&S

Develop implement and manage energy conservation programs for the property to minimize expenses

Identify and introduce environmentally-friendly systems and equipment

Monitor Key Performance Indicators for the Engineering Department and take corrective action as required to improve equipment inventory quality audit productivity and other objectives

Manage all Team Member related activities including recruitment performance management training career planning disciplinary matters and team motivation

Managing and auditing for peak performance outsourced maintenance contracts including facilities management landscaping elevators fire systems etc.

Analyze data for decision making from Synergy and other systems utilize Hilton tools such as LightStay.
