Digital Human Experience Designer

We are seeking a creative and multidisciplinary Digital Human Experience Designer to design meaningful, engaging, and immersive experiences around AI-powered digital humans and virtual characters.

The successful candidate will focus on how users perceive, interact with, and emotionally connect with digital humans across conversational interfaces, virtual environments, immersive experiences, media, education, entertainment, and emerging digital platforms.

This is a hands-on interdisciplinary role working closely with AI specialists, character designers, UX/UI designers, developers, 3D artists, animators, voice and performance teams, and creative directors to transform digital human technologies into coherent and engaging user experiences.

Responsibilities

- Lead experience design for digital humans and AI-powered virtual characters across interactive and immersive platforms.

- Define how users discover, interact with, communicate with, and build relationships with digital human characters.

- Design end-to-end interaction journeys covering introduction, conversation, response, emotional interaction, engagement, and continuation.

- Develop experience concepts that combine conversational AI, visual character design, voice, animation, gesture, facial expression, and interactive behavior.

- Create user journeys, experience maps, interaction flows, scenarios, storyboards, and prototypes for digital human experiences.

- Define interaction principles for conversational, emotional, visual, and non-verbal communication.

- Collaborate with character and personality designers to ensure that the digital human's identity and behavior remain consistent throughout the user experience.

- Work with AI and conversational design teams to shape natural and context-aware interactions between users and digital humans.

- Collaborate with animation, performance capture, voice, and technical teams to create convincing responses through facial expression, body language, eye movement, gesture, and speech.

- Design experiences for multiple platforms including websites, applications, virtual environments, games, XR experiences, digital exhibitions, and real-time interactive installations.

- Conduct user research, usability testing, interviews, and prototype evaluations to understand how people perceive and respond to digital humans.

- Identify interaction friction, unnatural behavior, emotional inconsistencies, and usability issues and translate findings into design improvements.

- Develop experience guidelines and interaction specifications for different digital human scenarios and use cases.

- Work with technical teams to ensure that experience concepts are feasible within available AI, real-time rendering, animation, voice, and interaction technologies.

- Research emerging developments in AI agents, digital humans, virtual characters, conversational AI, spatial computing, XR, and human-computer interaction.

- Prototype new interaction models and explore innovative ways for users to communicate and engage with digital humans.

- Maintain documentation of experience concepts, user flows, interaction rules, prototypes, and design decisions.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media, Game Design, Experience Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

- At least 3–5 years of professional experience in UX, interaction design, digital experience design, conversational design, immersive experiences, games, digital media, or a closely related field.

- Demonstrated understanding of user-centered design and human-computer interaction principles.

- Strong understanding of interaction design, user journeys, experience architecture, prototyping, and usability evaluation.

- Familiarity with AI-powered interfaces, conversational AI, virtual characters, digital humans, or AI agents is highly desirable.

- Understanding of how voice, facial expression, gesture, movement, personality, and visual appearance influence user perception and interaction.

- Experience designing interactive experiences across digital, mobile, web, real-time, virtual, or immersive environments.

- Strong ability to translate complex technology into simple, intuitive, and engaging user experiences.

- Familiarity with prototyping and design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Unreal Engine, Unity, or comparable tools is an advantage.

- Understanding of 3D, animation, motion capture, real-time rendering, XR, or digital character technologies is a strong advantage.

- Strong research, analytical, storytelling, and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both creative and technical teams.

- Ability to work across disciplines including AI, design, animation, performance, technology, and digital media.

- A portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in interaction design, digital experiences, conversational interfaces, immersive experiences, virtual characters, AI, games, or related fields.

- Fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
