Assistant / Associate Professor – Medical Microbiology

Overview
Teaching Medical Microbiology, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology, to undergraduate medical students within an integrated, competency-based curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate practical and laboratory sessions, including culture techniques, antimicrobial sensitivity testing, molecular diagnostics, and infection control practices.
- Lead problem-based learning, case discussions, and infection-related clinical correlations to strengthen students’ understanding of the role of microbiology in patient care.
- Supervise and mentor students in research projects, scholarly presentations, and publications in microbiology and related disciplines.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in medical microbiology, infectious diseases, or antimicrobial resistance, with dissemination in peer-reviewed journals.
- Actively contribute to curriculum design, accreditation processes, and quality assurance initiatives, and participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a PhD in Medical Microbiology or a related field and have a strong record of research and teaching. Experience in laboratory instruction and curriculum development is preferred.
