Fit-Out Cost Estimator / Estimation Engineer (Interior & Retail Fit-Out)
Desired Candidate Profile
Primary Purpose: Prepare accurate cost estimates and project budgets for interior fit-out jobs across retail, commercial, hospitality, and bespoke finish projects — supporting tender bids, project planning, and client proposals.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze architectural and technical drawings, shop drawings, designs, and specifications to determine scope.
- Perform material take-offs, labor evaluations, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and detailed cost sheets.
- Source prices from suppliers and subcontractors (often 3+ quotes per trade).
- Factor in project overheads, profit margin, logistics, and contingencies.
Commercial and Tender Support
- Prepare tender submissions and assist commercial teams in bid preparation.
- Coordinate with project managers, procurement, planning, and design teams.
Market & Pricing Insight
- Maintain up-to-date cost databases and supplier pricing trends (local UAE markets).
- Analyze cost variances and recommend efficient alternatives.
Reporting & Documentation
- Produce clear estimate reports, presentations, and justification of cost lines.
- Document assumptions, risks, and exclude/ include lists for client clarity.
