Job Overview

KBR is seeking a Piping Construction Engineer with experience in MEGA EPC projects to be based in Abu Dhabi for a PMC engagement. The role focuses on completion and turnover activities within commissioning and operation readiness environments, specifically targeting the GCC region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in completion/turnover and commissioning/operation readiness environments.
• At least 5 years in a similar position within Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, with preference for commissioning of sour gas, utilities, power steam & generation, and air separation projects.
• Strong familiarity with Completion Management Systems as a user and the associated reporting applications.
• Experience managing large database populations for completion data validation and quantification.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Leadership and Management: Support systemization activities, including system and subsystem definition; provide advice and support for the Onshore Completion Lead and Senior Commissioning Manager as needed; review completion/turnover deliverables issued by the EPC contractor; verify mechanical completion certificate requirements for various systems and subsystems; participate in completion and commissioning meetings; verify readiness of systems/subsystems for MC and RFSU certificates; ensure completion and handover methodology complies with contractual documents.
• Planning and Execution: Ensure the Project Completion Management System database populations are reliable for project tracking and monitoring before completion acceptance; utilize Completion Management Systems for tracking and reporting; monitor contractor’s Mechanical Completion (MC) and pre‑commissioning activities daily; ensure implementation of completion deliverables progresses per the commissioning sequence plan and project schedule; confirm all installations are complete and compliant with project requirements; participate in system walk‑downs and final acceptance inspections; generate and track punch items (Categories A/B/C); verify closure of punch items, ensuring critical items are addressed before completion acceptance; support the Onshore Completion Lead and Senior Commissioning Manager in meeting contractual completion milestones; report completion progress, key issues, and readiness status to other departments.
• HSE & Quality Assurance: Ensure the EPC contractor complies with KBR’s HSE regulations during construction, quality, and commissioning activities; provide support and advice to the Onshore Completion Lead and Commissioning Team for risk management before initiating pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities; ensure completion deliverables fully comply with project standards and requirements.
• Interface & Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with contractor, QA/QC, commissioning team, and operations representatives; support the Onshore Completion Lead, Senior Commissioning Manager, and Operation Readiness team leader in approving Mechanical Completion and RFSU; verify that the final handover to operations aligns with contractual requirements.
