We are seeking a skilled Steel Structure Design Engineer & Estimator to design structural steel systems and prepare accurate cost estimates for industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The role involves structural analysis, connection design, material take-offs, estimation, tender preparation, and coordination with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure cost-effective and compliant steel structure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Design steel structures in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Perform structural analysis and calculations for buildings, warehouses, industrial sheds, platforms, pipe racks, towers, and other steel structures.
• Prepare design reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Develop structural framing layouts, fabrication drawings, and erection drawings.
• Design steel connections including bolted and welded connections.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings for design coordination.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, and project teams.

Estimation & Tendering

• Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and material take-offs (MTO).
• Estimate costs for structural steel, fabrication, erection, painting, transportation, and subcontracted works.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and bid proposals.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Participate in tender preparation and submission processes.
• Analyze project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support contract negotiations and project budgeting.

Project Support

• Provide technical support during fabrication and site erection.
• Review shop drawings and fabrication details.
• Assist project teams with design modifications and value engineering.
• Monitor material consumption and project cost performance.
• Prepare variation orders and additional work estimates.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience in structural steel design and estimation.
• Strong understanding of steel design codes and standards.
• Ability to interpret structural and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication and erection processes.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
