About The Role

As an Assistant Manager, Procurement, you will assist the Manager, Sourcing in planning, organising, and managing the company’s business goals and objectives in order to deliver efficient, professional service to all stakeholders. To do this will require innovation, a complete understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), process driven with a good financial and logical approach to the procurement function. This position has the responsibility to perform the strategic sourcing activities of goods and services following policies & procedures and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Duties include planning, scheduling, initiating, monitoring and quality assurance of all procurement and contract activities. Work requires independent and professional judgment and is performed under the general direction of the Manager, Sourcing.

You will also implement procurement strategy and policies: implement & enforce operating polices & procedures and ensure smooth functioning of the department, as well as supplier development & relationship management (SRM), and creating a successful alliance with suppliers/service providers and build strong business relationships with them. You will ensure suppliers/service providers compliance on product quality, health & safety, and legal, as well as all other issues as per organisation guidelines and direction from local government authorities.

About You

Ideally, we would like you to have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field. You will also have a minimum of 4+ years’ prior experience in successfully managing sourcing and capable of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

In addition to this, you will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to interface effectively with all levels of management. In this role, you will have the natural ability to effectively influence through knowledge, relationship management, and trust. Having an exceptional creative and analytical problem-solving skill set with a strong desire to constantly grow and evolve will be crucial.

Experience of sourcing and category managing seafood in the UAE would be advantageous. You will have experience with word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, contract software, ERP, and e-Sourcing. You will also have experience in negotiation, analysis and a good understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
