Responsibilities

• Inspect the installation of utility systems, ensuring proper alignment, levels, and gradients.
• Verify that all works comply with approved designs, specifications, and industry standards.
• Monitor materials and workmanship to ensure top‑notch quality.
• Witness and verify system testing (e.g., pressure testing for pipelines, flow testing for drainage).
• Oversee the commissioning of utility systems to ensure they are fully operational and meet project requirements.
• Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and utility service providers to address any issues.
• Liaise with project engineers and managers to resolve discrepancies and implement design changes.
• Ensure all utility works are carried out safely and in compliance with regulations.
• Monitor environmental practices, such as waste disposal and stormwater management.

Required Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in utility systems inspection.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems – dry (electrical, telecom).
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASTM, BS, ISO, or local regulations).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting utility drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for utility works.
• Experience with trenching, excavation, and backfilling processes.
