Marcilly Recruitment's client is seeking an engaging, energetic and nurturing Mandarin Chinese speaking nanny/governess to join a Swiss/French family in Al Barari, Dubai, on a part-time basis.
This role will combine childcare, Mandarin language development and general education. The family would like the nanny to communicate with the children regularly in Mandarin – helping them build their understanding, confidence and knowledge.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a professional Mandarin Chinese speaking candidate with a background in Montessori learning to create engaging activities and crafts that align with the children's schooling. The nanny will work closely with the mother and educator to develop fun activities that complement their learning.
The family are looking for somebody who is positive, youthful, magnetic and engaging — being the right personality fit for the family is just as important as a background in education.
Working Schedule
Monday to Saturday, 4 hours a day
Duties will include
- Speaking regularly with the children in Mandarin — finding dynamic and fun ways to develop their language skills
- Being hands on in planning engaging, age-appropriate Montessori-based activities, games, experiments and projects
- Introducing new topics through play — History, Geography, Science, Arts and Crafts
- Assisting with daily routines
- Supporting/accompanying after-school activities, appointments and general wellbeing
- Encouraging confidence, independence and curiosity
- Travelling internationally with the family when required
- Working collaboratively with the mother and educator to support the children's learning
- Providing additional educational support where required
The successful candidate will
- Have previous early years or nanny experience — ideally within a Montessori, nursery or teaching environment
- Be a Chinese native or Mandarin Chinese speaker
- Be energetic, engaging, trustworthy and responsible
- Be currently based in Dubai
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be comfortable working closely and collaboratively with the mother and children's existing educator
- Be flexible and willing to travel internationally with the family
- Be warm and professional in their approach
