Job Summary:

We seek a dedicated and detail-oriented quality control engineer with expertise in cable testing, particularly for fire-resistant cables. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quality assurance tests on raw materials and finished products, analysing results, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEC and BS. This role is critical to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in our cable manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work Procedure Development:
  Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for routine and sample testing protocols.
• Raw Material Testing:
  Perform incoming quality control (IQC) tests on raw materials to ensure compliance with predefined specifications.
• Cable Testing:
  Conduct critical tests, including:
  • Dielectric Test
  • Voltage Withstand Test
  • Insulation Resistance Test
  • Hot Set Test
  • Ageing Test
  • Cold Temperature Test
• In-Process & Final Inspections:
  Perform inspections at various production stages to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Use of Testing Equipment:
  Operate advanced testing instruments such as insulation resistance testers, continuity testers, and other quality control tools.
• Data Analysis & Reporting:
  Analyse test data, identify trends, and compile comprehensive reports. Recommend process improvements based on findings.
• Corrective & Preventive Actions:
  Collaborate with the production team to implement corrective measures for quality deviations. Lead root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Documentation:
  Maintain detailed records, including inspection logs, test reports, and non-conformance reports.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  Ensure all testing and quality control processes comply with relevant international standards (IEC, EN, BS).
• Audit Participation:
  Assist in internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance with quality management systems.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Stay informed on emerging cable technologies and testing methodologies to enhance the overall quality assurance program.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Education:
  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Experience:
  Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in cable testing, especially in fire-resistant cable environments.
• Technical Skills:
  • Solid understanding of IEC & EN testing procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in handling quality testing equipment and interpreting test data.
