Healthcare Assistant

We are looking for a caring, responsible, and dependable Healthcare Assistant to support patients and healthcare professionals with day-to-day care activities.

The role involves assisting patients with their basic needs, supporting nursing staff, maintaining a clean and comfortable care environment, and helping ensure patients are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

The ideal candidate should be patient, attentive, comfortable working with people who require assistance, and able to follow instructions from qualified healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with routine daily activities under appropriate supervision.
  

• Help patients with mobility, positioning, and transfers when required.
  

• Support patients with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and other basic care needs within the permitted scope of the role.
  

• Assist nursing and healthcare staff with non-clinical patient care activities.
  

• Help prepare patient rooms, beds, and care areas.
  

• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
  

• Observe patients and promptly report concerns or changes to the responsible nurse or healthcare professional.
  

• Assist with serving meals and supporting patients during mealtimes when required.
  

• Help transport patients safely within the healthcare facility.
  

• Prepare and organize basic supplies and equipment as directed.
  

• Follow infection-control, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures.
  

• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality always.
  

• Communicate politely and respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  

• Follow instructions provided by nurses, supervisors, and other authorized healthcare professionals.
  

• Complete basic records or documentation when required and authorized.
  

• Attend required training and follow facility policies and procedures.
  

• Perform other appropriate support duties assigned by the healthcare supervisor.
  

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent; relevant healthcare training or certification is preferred.
  

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Caregiver, Patient Care Assistant, or similar role is an advantage.
  

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  

• Basic English communication skills are required; additional languages are an advantage.
  

• Caring, respectful, and patient-focused attitude.
  

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  

• Good personal hygiene and professional presentation.
  

• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
  

• Physically able to perform the normal duties associated with the position.
  

• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays where required.
  

• Candidates must meet any licensing, qualification, training, or regulatory requirements applicable to the specific position and healthcare facility in the UAE.
