Senior Restoration Engineer

Responsibilities
- Lead technical restoration efforts from the ground up during ransomware, destructive malware, or catastrophic system failures
- Assess infrastructure damage scope and determine recovery vs. rebuild requirements
- Orchestrate complex restoration sequences across hybrid and cloud environments
- Make real-time technical decisions to accelerate business resumption
- Coordinate with forensics teams, security analysts, legal counsel, and client leadership
- Direct contractors, MSPs, and internal IT teams through complex restoration plans
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands‑on infrastructure experience in private, hybrid, and cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP, on‑premises)
- Deep expertise in disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup technologies (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, etc.)
- Proven incident response experience leading infrastructure restoration during major security events
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), storage, and networking
- Strong understanding of multi‑tier application architecture and dependencies
- Ability to work under extreme pressure and non‑standard hours during recovery efforts
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical details to executives
