Associate Buyer - Womens

Job Overview

The Associate Buyer will support the Buying team throughout the end-to-end process of product selection, ordering and inventory management. You will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure merchandise is delivered accurately and on time, while supporting seasonal strategies that optimise stock, sales and profitability. This role includes the opportunity to travel to local and international markets for buying trips, meet suppliers and review new collections aligned with Ounass customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Buyer in researching and selecting high-quality merchandise from local and international suppliers.

• Place and manage orders following buying trips, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the agreed buying plan.

• Work with the Buyer to manage product selections, markdowns and stock levels.

• Place re-orders as required and communicate updates to Planning and Supply Chain teams.

• Maintain regular communication with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, payments, samples and vendor agreements.

• Collaborate with the warehouse team to resolve shipment delays, discrepancies or damaged merchandise, liaising with suppliers to ensure prompt corrective action.

• Manage the return of faulty merchandise and ensure the required credits are processed correctly.

• Conduct competitive pricing analysis and gather market intelligence through regular competitor visits.

• Support customer-service requests by placing special orders and providing information about stock availability and products.

• Consolidate buying feedback and prepare reports and recommendations for the assigned brand portfolio.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in Fashion Buying, Merchandising, Retailing, Brand Management or a related field.

• 2-4 years of experience in a similar buying or merchandising role.

• Previous experience within luxury fashion is preferred.

• A strong understanding of market trends, consumer behaviour and competitive analysis.

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and market insights.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

• Experience using inventory-management and order-processing systems.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Fluency in English.

• A passion for luxury fashion and a keen eye for emerging trends.

• Willingness to travel for buying trips, supplier meetings and market visits.
