Business Application Technical Manager

The role of the Business Applications Technical Manager encompasses the entire lifecycle of Microsoft-related business applications, both existing and prospective. This position involves comprehensive management of all technical facets associated with these applications. Key responsibilities include analyzing technical requisites, formulating technical architectures, supervising development activities conducted by onshore and offshore teams, and establishing a novel programming framework.

Responsibilities

• Technical Delivery Leadership - Drive the technical delivery of business applications to support the Company’s growth in alignment with the technology roadmap. Oversee the management of the technical budget for business applications, ensuring cost control and optimal utilization of onshore and offshore resources.
• Stakeholder Management - Collaborate with business stakeholders, including POS users and digital departments, to understand needs, assess feasibility and complexity, and ensure timely delivery of solutions. Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders involved in the technical development of products.
• Product Standards and Upgrades - Establish and enforce product standards, adhering to best practices and current technology trends. Monitor and ensure compliance with product providers’ standards, overseeing the timely upgrading of all products.
• Stakeholder Interaction - Engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels, from C-level executives to Entry-level staff, addressing topics within the domain of business applications.
• Documentation and Quality Assurance - Serve as the gatekeeper for documentation standards, ensuring vendor teams comply with documentation requirements. Personally review and validate all documents provided, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Application Stability and Continuity - Guarantee the stability and continuity of business applications under all circumstances. Led the technical team in addressing issues causing downtimes or disruptions, ensuring swift resolution.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in technical leadership roles, with a focus on business applications.
• Strong budget management skills, including the control of onshore and offshore resources.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of product standards and a commitment to following best practices.
• Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
• Thorough understanding of documentation requirements and quality assurance.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure the stability and continuity of business applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application or related field.
• Over a decade of experience in technical development/leadership within business applications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics AX / D365 FO and POS.
• Familiarity with complex application landscapes, including middleware such as Informatica and Apigee.
• Experience in a technical leadership role for 3-4 years, managing both onshore and offshore development teams.
• 4-5 years of hands‑on experience in the retail industry, particularly in an omni-channel environment.
