Principal Software Engineer - PA058

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the GitOps deployment API/CLI, self-service deployment capabilities, shared TypeScript package ecosystem, and ingress layer.
• Stabilize and strategically evolve mission-critical delivery systems while capturing technical knowledge and reducing deployment-path risk.
• Set technical direction, golden paths, standards, and multi-quarter roadmaps for delivery tooling and Go-based automation platforms.
• Make build-versus-buy, consolidation, migration, and system-sunset decisions across platform capabilities.
• Design and build high-leverage, high-risk components in Go and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Apply Agentic AI, MCP, A2A frameworks, and Temporal-style durable workflows to infrastructure creation, upgrading, and auditing.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and drive alignment across partner teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience, or equivalent impact and technical leadership.
• Experience architecting and operating tooling, services, or platforms relied upon by many teams, including API and contract design, versioning, backward compatibility, and blast-radius management.
• Strong experience with delivery/GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD and Helm, or backend platform and API engineering at scale.
• Proficiency in Go or TypeScript/JavaScript with strong working ability in the other language.
• Experience with Kubernetes, serverless runtimes such as GCP Cloud Run, and major cloud providers including GCP and AWS.
• Experience leading a high-stakes inheritance or migration, setting team direction, mentoring senior engineers, and aligning organizational boundaries.
• Practical experience or strong theoretical depth in Agentic AI, MCP, and A2A frameworks.
• Preferred: experience with Temporal or similar durable execution systems, Terraform at scale, Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Lambda, shared monorepos, and open-source infrastructure, CD, or developer-tooling projects.
• Preferred: experience with Helm, Argo, or Istio.
