Urgent requirement for Senior Officer – ( IFRS 9, credit risk modelling, ECL, stress testing, and model risk management) in banking domain is required for our banking client in Sharjah ,UAE
Strong hands-on IFRS 9 and credit risk modelling expertise---Must Proven programming capability in SAS, Python, R and SQL--Must Strong knowledge of Linear & Logistic Regression, CHAID segmentation and Cluster Analysis.--Must Experience developing macroeconomic default models.--Must Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Officer – Model Risk with strong experience in IFRS 9, credit risk modelling, ECL, stress testing, and model risk management. The role will be responsible for development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of quantitative credit risk models and supporting the overall Model Risk Management framework. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain IFRS 9 credit risk models, including PD, LGD and EAD models for ECL computation.
- Support implementation of Model Risk Management Standards and maintain the Model Risk Inventory and Model Documentation.
- Develop macroeconomic default models for forward-looking PD/LGD Point-in-Time term structures.
- Support monthly IFRS 9 ECL calculation and reporting.
- Perform regular credit risk model monitoring, performance assessment and enhancement.
- Develop/update model development and governance documentation.
- Perform internal and external stress testing and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analysis for senior management and regulators.
- Coordinate with Risk, Finance, IT, auditors and external consultants/vendors on model and IFRS 9 requirements.
- Provide IFRS 9 reports and support training for business, credit and risk teams.
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Economics or Statistics – Mandatory.
- 5+ years of experience in Risk & Financial Services / Quantitative Modelling.
- Strong hands-on experience with IFRS 9 impairment, ECL calculation and reporting in a BAU environment.
- Strong expertise in PD, LGD and EAD credit risk models and IFRS 9/AIRB-compliant modelling.
- Experience with Application, Behavioural and Collections Scorecards.
- Experience developing macroeconomic default models.
- Strong knowledge of Linear & Logistic Regression, CHAID segmentation and Cluster Analysis.
- Experience in credit risk model monitoring and validation aligned with Basel/regulatory guidelines.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation, including experience with BO Reports.
- Strong programming experience in SAS, Python, R, Excel VBA and SQL.
