Responsibilities
- Initiate, develop and execute strategies to capture profitable term natural gas trading opportunities within the Midwest and Rockies region
- Monitor and evaluate relevant market conditions, pivoting in/out of trades as necessitated by market conditions
- Evaluate existing trading processes and collaborate with trading personnel to improve efficiency, transparency and value-added measures
- Evaluate, execute, and manage short and long-term storage positions across the Midwest and Rockies
- Use experience to develop optimization and trading strategies and direct origination efforts
- Communicate summaries of relevant market conditions and opportunities upward within the organization
- Establish and execute trading strategies to optimize the value of contractual pipeline capacity and storage assets
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of regional pipeline/storage infrastructure and supply/demand composition
- Ability to construct a regional supply and demand model
- Experience trading physical, futures, swaps, options, storage, index and spreads
- Ability to travel up to 10-20% for customer events and industry conferences
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination
- Master's degree in business, finance, engineering, or related field
