Trader

Responsibilities

• Initiate, develop and execute strategies to capture profitable term natural gas trading opportunities within the Midwest and Rockies region
• Monitor and evaluate relevant market conditions, pivoting in/out of trades as necessitated by market conditions
• Evaluate existing trading processes and collaborate with trading personnel to improve efficiency, transparency and value-added measures
• Evaluate, execute, and manage short and long-term storage positions across the Midwest and Rockies
• Use experience to develop optimization and trading strategies and direct origination efforts
• Communicate summaries of relevant market conditions and opportunities upward within the organization
• Establish and execute trading strategies to optimize the value of contractual pipeline capacity and storage assets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of regional pipeline/storage infrastructure and supply/demand composition
• Ability to construct a regional supply and demand model
• Experience trading physical, futures, swaps, options, storage, index and spreads
• Ability to travel up to 10-20% for customer events and industry conferences

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination
• Master's degree in business, finance, engineering, or related field
